7- Chasing
The dog’s desire to track things that move is only a manifestation of the predator’s instinct. Many dogs hunt other animals, humans, and cars. All of this can lead to dangerous and devastating results. Even though you may not be able to stop the dog from chasing, you can take steps to prevent disaster.
Make sure your dog is always closed or bound (unless inspected indoors).
Train your dog when called.
Prepare a whistle or sound to attract your dog’s attention.
Be aware and watch out for possible triggers such as jogging.
Your best chance for success is to get the chase out of control. Through a lifetime of training specifically for your dog, he learns to focus on you before he runs away.
8- jumping up
Jumping is a common and natural behavior in dogs. Puppies jump to greet their mother. Then they can jump when they greet people. Dogs can also jump when excited or looking for something in someone’s hand. A dog that jumps can be annoying and even dangerous.
There are many ways to prevent dogs from jumping, but not all will work. In some cases, lifting a knee, grasping a leg, or pushing a dog can work. However, most dogs send the wrong message. Jumping is often attention-grabbing behavior, so every confirmation of your dog’s actions offers an instant gift that enhances the jump.
The best method is to just turn around and ignore your dog. Leave if necessary. Do not make eye contact, talk, or touch your dog. Look at your business. If he remains relaxed and silent, reward him calmly. It takes a long time for your dog to receive messages.
