Dogs can easily outrun humans – their nature is to chase and run! The fastest breed of dog by far, though, is the Greyhound. These fast sighthounds can run at 45mph in just seconds.
“But how does that beat a cheetah?” you may ask. Although a cheetah is capable of running at speeds up to 70 mph, it can only run for 30 seconds. Greyhounds on the other side could run for over 35 mph for seven miles. They’d quickly catch up to the cheetah, despite their head start!

6. Dogs don’t sweat like we do
Dogs do sweat but don’t expect to see them getting wet armpits anytime soon. They produce a pheromone-laden oily substance to replace the water that humans sweat. This is because dogs have a greater sense of smell than humans. Dogs don’t sweat as much as us, but instead, they pant to cool off. This is why it’s so important to keep your dog cool on those warmer days to make it easier on them.
