root vegetables
In general, root vegetables such as carrots, beets, yams, and parsnips can safely feed your dog. These vegetables are starchy and contain lots of sugar, which means you really want to limit the amount you give your dog (especially if commercial or raw dog food already contains root vegetables – many like it).
The stem
This includes vegetables such as celery and asparagus. Making your dog enjoy these vegetables maybe a little more difficult, but safe for dogs to eat. Some don’t like the taste, others find it hard to grit their teeth. To help, cut thick vegetables into small pieces and/or boil them.
squeeze
All types of pumpkins are safe for feeding dogs. Pumpkin and zucchini can help dogs with diarrhea, and most dogs do not oppose the taste of pumpkin. Use all your extra summer squash from the garden, prepare it for dogs, or cut and roast lanterns this year after Halloween to eat your dog. It is best to limit your puppy’s consumption of pumpkin meat by keeping the seeds and skin away.
